Monday night saw the great and glamorous gather at Alain Ducasse at the Dorchester in London for Harper’s Bazaar’s Women of the Year Awards 2009. Style setters and A-listers and industry execs attended to hear who won this year’s awards.
Leblas’ 18 carat yellow gold filigree Links collection was worn by one of this years winners, Bella Freud. Bella accepted the Inspiration of the Year Award from Lilly Allan. She co-founded the HOPING Foundation, which was set up in 2003 and stands for Hope and Optimism for Palestinians in the Next Generation. Since then they have funded over 180 grants to improve the lives of children in Palestinian refugee camps through youth centres, theatre projects, additional lessons for high school students and summer camps.

Leblas has spent an exciting week at IJL. It was great to see all the new contemporary jewellery on display. It’s the perfect place to get a snapshot of what is going on in the industry. We spent a lot of time at the seminars finding out what exciting things are happening in the industry from trends to technical developements. We can’t wait for next year!
In the meantime we love the fact that our Sol diamond ring is perfect for AW 2009 with it’s sharp, angular lines, in a monochrome palette, which goes perfectly with this sesaons austere silhouette.

After cutting her teeth as part of Top Shops design team and completing an MA at Central St. Martins Emily decided to create with her business partner Lisa, a ’made in London’ brand that suited their love of fun, craft, vintage and English eccentricity.

Leblas held a competition of the 18 carat gold Sequin ring on www.chictoday.com. As Leblas offers an international service we were very pleased to annouce that Nicole from Canada won our sequin ring. Nicole and I conversed in French through the help of the wonderful google translate to ensure Nicole got the ring in her correct size.
